INNOCENT MAN ARRESTED. LONDON, December 31. Ford M'Carthy, a New York resident, was arrested on a charge of abduction in New York, and was remanded for a week. It was subsequently discovered that it was a case of mistaken identity, and he was released. January 1. Mr M'Carthy is a director of the United States Rubber Corporation and a reputed millionaire. The Airterioan Embassy, acting on information supplied by amateur detectives in New York, had the arrest made in the belief that Mr M'Carthy was a man who had jumped his bail on a charge of abduction.
