An accident which is of rare occurrence befell; a Devon port lad name 4 Ray Brown at the Victoria wharf at Auckland on Monday. Be was standing 1 at the ferry ekfo when a ferry_ eteamer made fast, and got a leg oaught in the bight of the rope loop which was thrown over a pi.'e head, with the resut that the leg was drawn between the rope and the pile, and was broken when the strain camie on.
