Poultry men cannot complain for want of good prices this Christmas (remarks the Lyttelton Times). Compared with last jear, the prices are exactly double. On the 16th inst., in open auction, table chiekens sold at 8s 8d and ducklings 8s lCd per pair. Mr Wiig. Norwegian sub-Consul, stated to a Southland Times reporter on the 18th that all arrangements had been completed at this end in connection with the Norwegian whaling expeditions which will shortly make a descent on southern eeas. The vessels would have reached hero sooner but for the strike in the O'd Country, several of them having through it been greatly delayed in their fitting out.
