R. J. Mason passed through oil Saturday last in charge of Mr G. D. Greenwood's team for the Auckland meeting—viz., Miss Mischief, Byron, Lady Georgia, and Canute. Peirene did not accompany her stable mates north.

Mr Highden's team for the Auckland meeting will consist of Ermengarde, Nyland, Neireme. The last-named is a maiden two-year-old. After the Woodville meeting Mr E. J. Watt disposed of the Merriwee mare Palaver. It is understood she goes to Otago, where, properly placed, she should pay her way. The well-known sire Lethe (Cadogan— Siesta) died recently on a station at Akitio on the East Coast. He sired a lot of winners in. the Wairarapa district, and some useful performers, including Sir Lethe, Wailethe, Letherin, Narcotic, and others. ~"

Splendid nominations have been received 1 for the Wellington--. Racing- Club's summer meeting. AH the best-known performers (bar Vice-Admiral) are engaged in the Cup. In consequence of. W. Young being engaged at the Manawatu meeting, H. Futcher will ride Ruemac at Ellerslie. W. D. Young will ride Te Whefcu at Palmerston.

T. Wilson, who has been in Australia for some months, is expected back this week.

It ie reported that Ronald Cameron received £2OOO from the owner of The Parisian in connection with that horse's victory in the Melbourne Cuj>. Turna, one of Mr Whitney's team, for some time trained by J. H. Prosser at Porirua, went over to the Hutt this week, and will in future be trained 1 by O. Pritchard. Vocation (the full brother to Tribulation and Provocation) will be a competitor in the Palmerston North Stakes.

R .Hatch has been engaged to ride Lcs Angelos in the Auckland Cup. R. O'Donnell passed through on Tuesday with the Cup candidate and Culprit. Some of the prominent horsemen will do a good deal of travelling during the holidays. A. Oliver will be at Ellerslie on Boxing Day, come back to Palmerston to ride Boanerges in the Stakes, and journey back to Auckland for the concluding day's racing. J. -H. Prosser has a big team in training at Porirua at present. They include the two-year-olds Stepney and Styx, who competed unsuccessfully at Trentham. Neither of them, nor Jan (who was left in the Palmerston North Stakes in error) will be raced during the holidays. St. Petersburg will be one of the team for Ellerslie. Gipsy Belle has so far failed to strike form this season By Wellington Cup time she should be in good nick. Dearest, Hawick, Dirge, and Madeira are all doing 'well. The Auckland team will consist of Hawick. St Petersburg, St. Felix, Dearest, and Gipsy Belle. They were railed north on Wednesday.
