A human skeleton was brought to view during ploughing operations at Mr A. CJ. Faulkner's property at Muriwai. Gisborne. Investigations made it clear that the remains were that of Puri Renata, aged 24, who left the whare of his uncle at Muriwai about four years ago, and never returned. He had been delirious after an attack of fever, and told his relatives he might never return. A bunch of keys found near tie skeleton has been identified by the uncle as having been the property of his nephew. The ground had been ploughed a number of times, but river silt had been deposited on it, and had buried the body.
