I The usual weekly meeting of the above club was held in the clubroom on Tuesday, December 12: present—lndian Chief (president), Fmncfs, Happy Wag, Possum, Possum's Mate. Anna Bell, Mary Bell. A.W.D.F., Eleanor, Mlattio, Boxana, and Hiram Green After the minutes of the previous week's meeting were read and confirmed, Francis . apelogistxl for the non-attendance of Bert, who is at present out of town on business. The evening was devoted to readings from Dickens. One and all of the members present took part, and the evening proved most enjoyable. —Syllabus.— The drawing up of the syllabus for January and Februacry, 1912. was the next business before the meetin ;, and with my next report I will publish it. —Announcement*. — I have to inform all visitors fco Dunediin during the holidays that our last meeting for 1911 will be the 19th December, and wo shall open our year on January 2 with a social in the clubroom. —Socials and Picnics.— -Both town and country L.F. will have no cause to grumble about the social side of our" programme for their enjoyment during the holidays, for there is to be a moonlight excursion to Tomahawk Beach on Boxing Night, the picnic of the year to Oamaru on Year's Day, .and the social on Tuesday January 2, And now," comrades, I make an earnest appeal to you all to support us in these undeitakings, for remember, it is for your enjoyment as well as our own that these are organised. To all; country visitors we extend a most cordial invitation to join us. -..-••. , • A few dates to remember: December 19.. —Debate: "Which Make the Better Wires, Town or Cci-ntry-Girls?" 'December 26 (Boxing Mghi).—All L.F. meet at the C P.O. at 7.30 p.m. for a moonlight excursion t« Tomahawk Jtfeaon. Girls kindly supply baskets and cups; boys cordials and New Year's Tay.—Picnic at Oamaru. As this has been an annual fixture for many years, let us try to" eclipse all previous efforts this time. SPECIAL NOTE TO COUNTRY L.F. Dear Comrades,—You have already been thanked for your past support of the Dunlin Club by our late secretary. Nothing-
remains for me to say but to ask that you continue the same to me, and I shall be very grateful to you all, 1 shall be open at all times to receive papers from, you, and may I add, I hope to receive many. Also any suggestions for the welfare of the club will be most welcome. Before concluding, on behalf of the Dnnedin Club, allow me to wish you one and all a merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
