NOTES liY JACK.
The entries for the New Zealand Bowling Association's tournament, held under the management of= the Dunedin Centre, arc disappointing. Although in some respects better than some anticipated when it was unwisely decided to change the date of the tournament to the Christmas and New Year Weeks. Up to the closing hour on Mondav the entries were: —Rinks 65, Doubles 133, Singles 140. Among these is a fair number of players from the North Canterbury Centre, while South Canterbury, North Otago, South Otago, and Southland Centres are poorly represented, The .Centre Executive decided to extend the time for closing until 5 p.m. on Wednesday, so as to give players another opportunity to take part in the tournament. It might be mentioned that when the Dunedin Centre hold a Christmas tournament in 1908 the number of rinks which entered was 48. The Association tournament so far only attracted an additional 12 entries.
