The case Dyson v. the Durham Colliery Mechanics' Association, brought to restrain the application of the union's funds for parliamentary levies, has been settled, the defendants consenting to an adverse judgment. The Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants agreed to pay £650 to end the Osborne litigation. The whole dispute from start to finish has cost the Railway Society £IO,OOO.
