The present deadlock in the coastal shipping trade is having a serious effect on tirade and industry in Tararnaki, owing to tho impossibil'*" of getting shipments through Paten. It is reported that the Patea freezing works will close down owing to inability to secure coal supplies. II this is so the chief local industries will be seriously retarded.
