Ranger Friend reported at the Southland Acclimatisation Society meeting' last week that at Thornbuiry a mallard duck with 14 ducklings had put in an appearance, and that another duck had also hatched out. One case of alleged shooting of mallard ducks wa« reported by tine curator.
