In T.P.'s' Magazine '/or Septtmbcr, -to hand from Mr J. BHaifchwaite, an article on "The Insanity Of "Napoleon's Genius" is contributed by Mr T. P. Mertey Roberts gives hitherto' unpublished details in the life of " Old Fitz," the translator of Omar Khayyam. Writing- on " The State 'Theatres of Europe," Mr Huntly Carter urges the establishment of similar institutions, with which ho would include schools of acting- where elocution, deportment, and the essential's of acting would be taught. The anecdotail hirtory of London is continued bv Mr Wilfred Whitton. From Mr Frederick Lees's article on the " Snail Eaters of Paris," it appears the commercial importance of snails is always on the increase, and other countrier, now contribute. to the 'demand.- " Colour Blindness " is discussed by Mr Charles R. Gibson, F.R.S.E. The stories include a study of London life by Mr Neil Lyons, entitled, " The Ginger Nut," and one on life in the Chinese quarter in San Francisco before the earthquake entitled, " The Lost Camelia." The number ie capitally illustrated with reproductions of photographs, and sketches by black and white artists. The reading matter in the Triad itself is somewhat on the usual lines. There is a criticism of the judging at the Buneddn Competitions, which should have found its way into the wastepacer basket.
