The Catlins Railway.

TO THE EDITOR. Sib,- —From your report of the Catlin'a Railway League meeting I see that my friend, Mr to understand me when talking with me in Wellington. May I eay that what I told him was that there would be an authorisation bill this year; that I had *t first urged that the Catlins line should be authorised to M'Lernnan's, but finding the authorities were, opposed to that, I had since been urging that it should be to the school opposite Dunlop's. I told him that I had every hope that this authorisation would be made, and I am glad to say that the Authorisation Bill presented to the House yesterday shows that my hope was justified, as the line will be authorised to Back Creek, -which is within a short distance of £he school. —I am, etc., Axex. S. Malcolm. Wellington, October 19.
