AUSTRALASIAN LEAGUE TEAM. LONDON, October 11. The Kangaroos defeated Widnes at Widnes, scoring four goals and five tries to ntl. Four thousand people were present. -. In the first half Gilbert and Broomharn (Sydney) obtained tries, Francis (NewZealand) converting both. The second half was marked ,by very rough play, there being frequent fighte in the scrummages. Halloway, of Brisbane, and Dar--'niody, of Sydney, as well as two of the Widnes players, were ordered off the field. M'Oue (Sydney) scored once, and Courtney (Sydney) twice, Francis converting on two occasions. ANOTHER EASY WIN. LONDON, October 15. (Received October 16, at 0.25 a.m.) The Australasian team defeated St. I Helens by two goals and four tries to a goal and a try.
NORTHERN UNION GAME. • , WELLINGTON, October 14. A meeting ■ of players interested in Northern Union Rugby formed a committee to establish the game in Wellington. It was stated that there was no idea of entering the professional ranks, but members of travelling teams would receive 10s per day for loss of time. It was also stated that the Australian League had guaranteed £SOO per annum for a visit from a New Zealand team, and return visits might be expected.
ASSOCIATION. At the weekly meeting of the Otago Football Association (Mr A. H. Crawley presiding) the appeal by Kaitangata Club against the awarding of the Senior Cup to Mornington on the grounds that Kelly, who played for Mornington, was unfinancial with a Canterbury Club, was dismissed. The Kaitangata delegate thereupon gave notice of appeal to the N.Z.F.A. He further intimated that in the event of the N.Z.F.A. not upholding the appeal his club intended to test the ruling by reference to the English Football Association. . ■ ',,.
