DISASTROUS EXPLOSIONS

FRENCH WARSHIP LOST. HEAVY LOSS OF LIFE. PARIS, September 25. A fire broke out in the ammunition hold of the French battleship Liberte at Marseilles, and a series of terrible explosions followed. It ia feared that 500 men have perished. The first explosion took place at 5 o'clock in the morning, and the second and third an hour later. About 100 men sprang into the water, and most of them were rescued. The last explosion broke the Liberte ir halves, and she sank in 19 minutes.
