EVASION OF CUSTOMS DUTY.
WELLINGTON, September 21. When the oases of the Minister of Customs v. the Australian Kodak Co., a claim for £20,040 penalty for alleged evasion of Customs duty, and the same plaintiff v. Harold Anthony Beauchamp for a like sum on the same allegation, were called before Mr Justice Edwards to-day tli3 Solieiito>r-ge«eral stated that the actions had been settle-d. The defendant company had paid £SOOO penalty, together with £IOOO to cover cost« and unpaid duty.
