Scout will bo pleased to receive news from Scoutmasters or Scouto, or from any person interested in the Boy Scout movoment, for insertion in this column; contributions addressed to Scout to reach this office before Thursday evening. Scoutmasters are advised that the new registration cards are now ready, and each. separate patrol must be "registered immediately. Scoutmasters of troops whose fees have been paid may obtain their cards direct from headquarters by furnishing' their own name and address, the name of the troop, and the - name of each patrol. Troops whose fees have not been paid must register through their district secretary. Badgce will not be supplied to members of unregistered patrols, ajid the patrols them-selves-will not be recognised officially. District Secretary Read, late of Balclutha. who obtained leave of absence to go to England tq, complete his studies, writinc > the Dominion Chief Scout, says that 1 .ad a pleasant journey Home, and on i -nting his letter of introduction at heaidi.i.ia.i-ters, London his name was referred to the District Committee of the district" in which he was residing, with the result tliat he is attached to a troop. , The troop is-50-strong,-though-thev do not aU turn up to parades. "I am at present instructing" in first-aid work," he writes. " As far as I am able to judge, the New Zealand' Scout is- quito the equal of tha English boy ami for organisation and control of badges we in New Zealand ' hold the roll.' They obtain the badges too easily—at least, that is what I have found so far. The scoutmasters, are a fine lot, and are doing all in their power to fu'rtihei the movement. I had the pleasure of attending tha King's rally, and it was a sight I shall never forget. It is quite im< possible to describe the event ani all thai it meant." He wishes to hs remaaiberea to all his New Zealand Scout friends. Mosgiel Scouts are busy arranging for their annual fete. This year's programme is likely to totally eclipse that of previous years. The following appointments have been decided upon for inspection of badges by Chief Inspector Dr Newlands: —Captain Sandle and Captain Mitchell, fireman badges; Mr F. WiUieme, marksman's and electricians'; Mr Marlow, cabinetmaker's and carpenter's; Mr Munvo. musician's badges. Officers commanding tro , must notify Secretary Can- as to their requirements, when arrangements will be made for the examining of lads. Between 25,000 and 30,C00 Scouts took part in the King's rally at Home, while over 600 King's Scouts were m a semicircle round the King's flagstaff, and behind this there were the Life savers.
