GREYMOUTH PRE-BYTERIAN CHURCH.

FOUNDATION STONE LAID. GREYMOUTH, May 17. This afternoon a great crowd assembled to witness the laying c? the foundation stone of the new Pre~b\ te.ri.an Church by the Rev. John M'Kenzie, of Christchurch. The building, which was designed by Messrs Salmond and Vanes, architects, of Dunedin, is to be built in brick. The ceremony was attended by leading citizens. AM the ministers of religion in the district were present. A large choir rendered anthems, and the Sunday school children sang hymns. A sum of close on £SOO in donations was kid on the foundation stone. Tiie Rev. Mr MUenzie is being entertained at a social to-night.
