SOCIETY FOR THE HEALTH OF WOMEN AND CHILDREN. The monthly meeting of the Society for the Health of Women and Children was jeld at the Town Hall on Friday, there being present—Mesdames King (in the ohair), Thoomin, Moore, Loudon, Sidey, M'Master, Gallaway, S. Alien, Harris, Oarr, Auckland, Jackson, Hosking, Misses Bes-A-ick, Gow, and Mrs Edmond (hon. secretary); Apologies were received from Mesdames Ross, Ramsay, J. Allen, Arundel, and Rattray. N • Leavo of absence for six months, was granted to Mesdames Ritchie, Donald, Ansell, Harris, and Hosking. The reports of the matron of the Karitane Harris Hospital and Plunket nurses were read and received. There was a gratifying increase in the number of mothers visiting the society's room in Liverpool street, there having been 60 for April, against 40 in Mavcb. Maintenance money received for the month was £l3 Is sd. It was resolved to advertise for a- matron for the Home at a salary of £125 per annum to commence with. It was notified that subscriptions for the coming year are now duo, and can be left at Stark's bookseller, or sent direct to Mrs Theomin (hon. treasurer), Royal terrace.
