EXTENSIVE ROBBERUS.
A SUSPECT ARRESTED. WELLINGTON, May 13. Detectives Lewis, Andrews, and Cameron yesterday accomplished a smart piece of work in the recovery of a great quantity of valuables, the property of private individuals and of the Wellington City Council. For some time past burglary after burglary had been reported to the police as having been effected in various parts of the city. Detection was difficult, but as time wore on it was not so hope-, less as it at first appeared. Finally, an' arrest was made of a man about 32 years of age. and the next step was recovering! the property, which consisted of ringsa watches, silver cigarette cases, odd pictures, clothing, boots, and othefc articles. Most of the plundeir was re> covered where it had been conoealed on' the reclaimed land beyond Waterloo quay, and in places familiar to the detectives* Coins of value which had been stolen from Newton Museum were also recovered, as well as a large quantity of plates cue from books in the Wellington Publio Library.
