THE POTATO DISEASE.
SOUTHEEN CONSIGNMENTS DESTROYED. NEW PLYMOUTH, April 10. To-day Mr Palethorpe, representing the orchards, gardens, and apiaries division of the Agricultural Department, visited Nfiw Plymouth, and made arrangements for the destruction of large consignments of crab-infested potatoes from the South Island. It is probable that they will be taken well out to sea by the dredge and dumped oveiboard. Already large quantities have been buried and covered with lime at Inglewood to prevent the spread of infection.
