HANDLING FROZEN MEAT.
MEETING AT MASTERTON. I MASTERTON, April 6. f Mr W. D. Lysnar .addressed about 40 settlers this afternoon on the frozen meat question. 'He traversed the same ground as in other centres, and emphasised the importance of sending a representative to London. Mr W. G. Foster, | chairman of directors of the Wellington J Meat Export Company, exprefeed his , sympathy with the remarks of Mr Lysnar j regarding the need for improvement in ! the system of handling meat at Home. [ He stated, however, that the Companies were now arranging for a suitable reprc- i sentative to do the work siiggested by Mr Lysnar. Mr W. C. Buchanan. M.P., stated that the representative of the --«- ducers might be asked what right he had to interfere, seeing that most of the ■output had passed out of the producers' hands before it reached London. A l'esolution was carried by the meeting approving of the request of the New Zealand Committee for improved facilities for handling and marketing New Zealand
produce at the port of London and Smithfield.
