A verdict of £SOO damages has been returned fcy a Dublin jury in favour of William Whelan, bootmaker, of Portumna, who sued the Galway County Council for injuries received through a fall over a heap of mud left in the road at night. At a result of the fail he received permanent injuries. Th© British Museum authorities are arranging for -a special exhibition to illustrate the history and development of the Brtish Bible. The exhibition will be. in conjunction with the tercentenary of the Authorised Version of the -English Bible, but it is proposed to give illustrations of versions prior to 1611. The organising of the exhibition will be superintended personally by Dr Kenyon, the librarian of the British Museum.
