Deer seem to be fairly plentiful on the Maungarakis this season (says the Carterton News). A sportsman went out on Saturday morning for two and a-half hours, and secured on© 10 and two 12’s, all of them fair leads. It is reported that there are unusually

The Sportsman, while regarding it as a possible mannerism, suggests that Gray's practice of allowing the cue to rest on the cloth after each stroke, and making lateral movements with the tip, raises the nap sufficiently to check the red on the desired spot. GRAY'S STROKE LEGITIMATE. LONDON, April 10. The Billiards Control Club doee not intend to introduce rules interfering with Gray's stroke, which is considered quite legitimate.
