SYDNEY TRAMWAYS' '

SYDNEY, April 6.

The Government has submitted to the Tramway Construction Advisory Board a scheme for State ferries connecting the North Shore with the city. The scheme provides for two services between thickly-populated points. The Government already owns the proposed sites. It -is stated that the cost of deviating certain tram routes is not great. The suggestion is that the ferries should be free to travellers on the trams to the wharves. It is considered that the present company’s 10-minute service is inadequate. When in opposition the Labour party frequently advocated a free service, and the company recently made a 10 per cent, reduction in the price of season tickets.
