A DEMENTED COWBOY

NEW YORK, April 7.

Cliff Root, a cowboy at Billings, in the State of Montana., lassoed his bride and dragged her body for miles across country, the woman’s head being crushed. Root then shot his brother-in-law and the widowed sister of his first wife, afterwards killing his stepson. He then committed suicide. It is believed that he suddenly became insane as the result of domestic troubles.
