PORTUGAL

LISBON, April 8,

A wages dispute resulted in the mutiny of the Auspal Municipal Guard. Ihe mutineers boarded the gunboat San Rafael, which they sacked. The commander sought protection, which was refused. The cruiser Adamastor was sent from Oporto equipped for war and carrying troops. There was considerable resentment in Northern Portugal owing to the declaration of the Minister of Justice that the separation of church and State will be enforced in June.
