THE COAL VEND.
SYDNEY, April 6,
A meeting of colliery proprietors further discussed the question of dissolving the Coal Vend. It is understood that considerable tension - exists over the matter, the opponents of the proposal contending that dissolution would mean the introduction of a cut-throat policy which would seriously affect the coal trade. The statement was made that if the vend dissolved coal would be sold in Newcastle at 7s a ton. The decision of the meeting, if any, was not disclosed.
