MAORI LAND DISPUTE.

WELLINGTON, March 17. Judgment was given by the Chief Justice to-day in the case Pateena Kerehi and others v. Taituma Karangatana and others, concerning the subdivision of 82,760-aore block, in the Taupo district. The District Court was asked to order a rehearing of the investigation made in 1877. The application was refused on the ground that the Chief Judge of the Native Land Court had no jurisdiction. Notice of appeal was given.
