Mine. Bapet, an octogenarian inhabitant of Bourges, was found to all appearances ■dead in her bed. A death certificate was delivered, and she had already been placed in the metal shell, when she gave undoubted signs of life. Th<3 old lady was immediately taken out of tlve coffin and put into bed. In a case <at Waimate in which a woman was proceeded against for allowing her cows to Lie on the borough roads, the fine (ss) was subscribed by ihe solicitors and the clerk of the court. The Advertiser says nothing ever more truly meant a drop of the milk of human kindness.
