THURSDAY ISLAND, March 17. Eastern files from Peking say that official reports state that nineteen millions of people died from plague in Manchuria, but that the disease is now completely suppressed in Southern Manchuria and Harbin. March 18. An official correction makes the number of deaths from plague in Manchuria to be L 90,000, not 19,000,000 as cabled yesterday. ST. PETERSBURG, March 18. Two deaths from plague have occurred at Odessa. RIO DE JANEIRO, March 19. The authorities are alarmed in view of a possible plague epidemic. There are 20 cases reported from Porto Aligro.
