RAILWAY ACCIDENTS.
TWO TRAINS DERAILED. VANCOUVER, January 19. A Canadian-Pacific train was derailed at the Owen Sound branch. A number of passengers were seriously injured. A gang of convicts who were aboard were unhurt, and they rendered gallant service in rescuing the passengers. One of them, by piling up snow, extinguished a fire Avhich threatened to consume on© of the coaches. The passengers later petitioned the Attorney-general at Ontario to recognise the convict gang's bravery. NEW YORK, January 19. Eleven passengers and five train men were injured in the derailment of the Overland Limited on the Salt Lake railroad. The disaster was due to a defective switch. January 20. A train dashed into a cow at Fort Smith, in Arkansas, and was derailed. Four persons were killed and 30 were injured.
