ERUPTIONS AND FLOODS. NAPLES, October 25. The floods invaded Cetera, a fishing I village, killing 12 people. A hurricane, floods, mud, and boulders following the cloud-burst played havoc in Casamicciob'a and Ischia, where a dozen people were killed. There were other victims on the elopes of Montenicola. The population of Paccoaniento are homeless. Many people were drowned. Torrents of volcanic mud ami lava blocks came from Vesuvius. They swept over the circular railway on the mountain, overwhelmed the crop.; over miles of country, and crushed many houses. A number of bathers perished at Casamieciola and Ischia, and many houses were flooded and collapsed at Amain, j where there was much loss of life. Tremendous seas are running in the i Gulf of Naples and in the vicinity of the ! port. The inundation undermined a I number of houses. Twenty-six bodies j have so far been recovered. ! Four battleships have been sen! to the j island of [schia, which is reported to be ; partially submerged with mud 24ft deep. j The dead number 200. The damage at Casamicciola and Ischia is minimised. Cetera, however, has suffered severely, there being 200 victims. All the houses in one street collapsed at Majori, and at Salerno 20 persons were killed. October 26. , A gtreet aj ■'■■'— jj l
