OTTAWA, September 20. ' Captain Klaus Larsen. in a motor boat, went from the foot of the Niagara cataract through the whirlpool and rapids, a distance of four and a-half miles, to Lewiston. Except the Maid of the Mist, which did likewise in 1864, Captain Larsen's craft alone has accomplished the feat. The authorities threatened to prohibit the venture on the ground of attempted suicide.
