September 26. n The Anglican General Mission concludes its labours in the diocese of Waiapu tomorrow, having commenced in various . churches throughout the district on the ">»'t.h inst. The attendances at the services have been daily increasing at all ihe churches, and a notable feature has'" been the large congregations at the meet'nes of men. and the fart that many have renewed their vows after years of neglect and indifference to the claims of the Church* Open-air meetings have been successfully held, short services held almost daily in the railway workshops, and special addresses given to the children. One thing , that had impressed him during his stay in New Zealand had oeen the keen in-": terest taken in the church and its welfare bv the lay members. This interest wai shown not onlv in looking after the busM ne»i connected with the church's finan< cial matters, etc., but also in the desiri and effort to extend its spiritual influence.
