A detailed report upon the allocation by Education Boards of the ninepenny capitation grant to school committees (discontinued Inst year) has been furnished by the Education Department. The allowance to the committees per unit of average attendance in the various education districts was as follows:—Auckland (total. £8992), percentage per unit .276£ : Taranaki (£1256), .253£ ; War.ganui (£747). .228£ ; Wellington (£5209). .204£; Hawke's Bav (£2796), .314£~: Marlborough (£448), .226: Nelson '£33o;. .176£: Grev (£283). .171£ : Westland (£191). .194£ : North Canterbury (£5979). .340£; South Canterburv (£ 1217), .255£; Otago (£5298), .298£: Southland (£2359), .268£. Total, £35,649, upon an average attendance of 132,773, equal to .&&& oer unit.
