Replying to a deputation, the Minister of Agriculture negatived the idea of" relaxing the regulations governing the importation of foreign cattle at present, inasmuch as such a course was not likely to relieve the situation as regards dear meat.

The municipality at Dresden has initiated a congress of representatives from German cities to consider the prevailing meat famine.
