GREEKS BOYCOTTED

CONSTANTINOPLE, August 31. The anti-Greek boycott has been renewed, and is spreading throughout European and Asiatic Turkey. September 1. Rifaat Pasha, in reply to the Greek Minister's remonstrance, has promised to exert his influence against the boycott, and has threatened the expulsion of the Hellenic subjects in Salonica. The Turkish newspapers animadvert on the Greek elections and the alleged weakness of the four protecting Powers of Crete. One paper describes Gi-eece and Bulgaria as disturbers cf Turkey's internal tranquillity, and suggests a fresh sacrifice in order to give the malevolent neighbours their quietus for the next 20 years.
