French Congo natives have murdered the members of the Lieutenant Boyd Alexander hunting and natural history expedition. : May 25. j Lieutenant Boyd Alexander was killed on April 3 at Nyer, eastwards of Abeshr, in Wadai—a centre of Senussi activity. It has been the scene of the murder of several explorers,, including Vogel, in 1856, Beurmann, in 1861, and recently of a fanatical attack on the French, who retaliated by the chastising of the natives ! on April 7.
