The Price of Rabbitskins.
TO THE EDITOR.
Sir, —I notice in one of your issues of last week that the auctioneers, were advertising that rabbitskins were fetching up to 3s 6d per pound. Now, Sir, this is very misleading, and causes a great deal of disappointment and disgust among the country people when they get their account sales. The following will explain last Mondav's sales, which consisted of over 400.000 skins, out of which large number only 12 skins (21b) brought 3s 6d lb. At this sale I sold some and got as high as 2s. 9d, andl still the average was only Is 4-jd per ?b. If any of the selling brokers who- are so fond of advertising what they, are Retting for rabbitskins will guarantee me 2s 3d per lb for winter-poisoned skins, I shall let them have them. This should leave them a good profit on their advertised prices.— I am. etc., Clyde, May 21. Buhny.
