LONDON, May 26

One hundred and thirty-two delegates, representing 44 emigration societies, are in conference at the Colonial Institute. The chief object is to establish a permanent standing committee, whereon all societies shall bs represented. MELBOURNE, May 27.

The Minister of External Affairs (Mr Batchelor) has directed Sir G. Reid to withdraw from the English papers the Commonwealth advertisement dealing with the productions of Australia, and published with a view to attracting emigrants. The Minister considers this and some other published information as exaggerated and misleading. The Trades Hall Council has appointed a deputation to interview Mr Fisher, and to protest against Sir G. Reid's emigration policy as misleading.
