The president of the guild (Mr Orton Stevens) was in the chadr. In the report (which was adopted) it was stated that 74 new members had joined the association during the year, thus bringing the membership up to a'total of 356. This number included practically all the certificated masters and officers in New Zealand waters. The year had also been very successful in other respects. Congratulatory reference was made to the formation of the Auckland branch of the guild during the year. The chairman remarked that the position, as disclosed, was most satisfactory and pleasing to all concerned in the guild.
