DUNEDIN HOSPITAL GUILD.
The session of the Dunedin Hospital Guild's working meeting's was opened in First Church Hall on Friday afternoon. Whilst the busy fingers of the members were plied at doreas work fchd annual meeting was held. Mrs A. W. Morris (president) took the chair. Miss B. R. Davidson (hon. secretary) read the annual report (which has been published), and Miss J. Hutchison (hon. treasurer) read the balance sheet. The President, in moving the adoption of the report, said: I have much pleasure in moving- the adoption of the annual report and balance sheet. In doing so I would like to draw your special attention to the clauses dealing with the membership. You have heard that the- average attendance at the working meetings last year showed a falling off. I sincerely trust that this year we will not only make up the ground lost in that way, but that the session will prove a record one in every way. This can only be done if members carry out the suggestion of each one securing at least one new member.' lam glad to eay that those who attended last year worked remarkably well, the number of garments sent to the Hospital showing an increase of 29 over the previous year, and of 71 over those sent two years ago. The balance in hand shows a. slight falling off, but this is accounted for by the donation of £5 given, to First Church for the renovation of the hall. This work has not bien gone on with yet, with the exception of providing better seating accommodation and a very nice cupboard in which to hold the work, but I a.m informed that the money is to be spent very soon, and that the result will be that we will bo able to meet under more comfortable conditions. Last year I referred to the good work done by our secretary and treasurer. I have again to express my thanks to Miss Davidson and Miss Hutchison for the assistance they have given me during the past year. In them and Mrs Guthrie, who takes charge of tho cutting out, and in ail the other members I am deeply grateful for the loyal assistance rendered in the work of the guild. Mrs John Roberts seconded the president's motion, which was carried unanimously. The' following office-bearers were elected for the current year: —President. Mrs A. W. Morris; vice-president, Mrs 11. Driver; hon. treasurer. Miss J. Hutchison; hon. secretary. Miss B. R. Davidson"; committee— Me'sdames Ramsay, J. 0. Clcss. D. Haynes, H. Guthrie, Black, S. Phillips, W. Salmond, and Heineman.
