THE POLICE FORCE.
INSPECTOR ELLISON NOMINATED, WELLINGTON, April 29. A meeting of members of the Police Force was held last evening to consider the matter of the nomination of a representative for election to the Public Service Superannuation Board. The name of Inspector Ellison was submitted for nomination. . Sergeant Dart, of the Training Deoot, told the meeting that he took no exception to the nomination of Inspector Ellison, but that he wished to make it clear that he himself would be a candidate for election on the Board. He declined, however, to let his name go before the meeting as a candidate, because he recognised that it was out of the question to expect the constables present to support his nomination when non-com-missioned officers were present supporting that of the inspector in charge of the district. He argued that the meeting should not pledge itself. It was decided to nominate Inspector Ellison.
