THEFTS IN WELLINGTON.

i WELLINGTON, April 27. ! Before Mr W. G. Riddell, S.M., at the Magistrate's Court to-day, Martin W. Tier and Jeseph Edward Bowker were charged conjointly as follows: —With brealdiicr and entering the premises of Edward Pearce and Co. and stealing 30 pairs of boots, valued at £2O ; with breaking and entering the premises of John Lindberg and stealing goods to the value of Is. There were four other charges against Tier. These alleged that he broke and entered the premises of the following persons and goods of the value stated:—On or about 19th January, 1910, Robert V. Simpkiss, £9 lis : about 29th November. Gollin and Co. Proprietary (Ltd.), £lB 2s ; on or about the same date, Harris, Morris, and Co.. £7 15s; and on or about the same date, John Kerr, 6s 2d. Tier pleaded not guilty, and reserved his defence. Bowker entered a plea of guilty. Both were committed to, the Supreme Court, the former for trial and Bowker for sentence.
