NEW PLYMOUTH, April 29. New Plymouth people have been keenly interested to-day in the fact that the directors of the Taranaki Petroleum Company were sitting almost continuously throughout the day, considerin - -bled offers from abroad for the pure!-:. .i the company's interests. At a late hour to-night they adjourned without having, come to a decision, and will meet again to-morrow. It is stated officially that- an excellent offer has been made, and one that shareholders would jump at. but the terms of the offer are such that the directorate will probably not wait for the shareholders' confirmation. Further news is anxiously awaited. Matters proceed satisfactorily at the wells at Moturoaj ■. ""---—.
