LONDON, April 13. A fire broke out in No. 1 lower hold of the Ocean Company's steamer Tela,mon, which left Albany on March 21. The hold contains Tasmanian apples. Water was pumped in for three hours and a-half, and! steam and carbonic acid gas were also injected, but the fire is still smouldering. The captain recommends that the wool in the 'tween decks be discharged.. The Telamon arrived at Perim with her cargo afire. It had been burning for six days. SYDNEY, April 13. The North Coast Company's new steamer Minimbah, which arrived from Glasgow three weeks ago, struck the bar of the Manning River and broke her back. They report that the schooner was wrecked on January 9. The crew, consisting of 17 natives, were left at an island in the vicinity of the wreck. They had. plenty of food, and there was £0 fear of their starving. Arrangements have been made for the steamer Upolu to pick up the castaways on her next trip. In connection with the salvage operations on the Minimbah, the racehorse Silverpan and a mare and foal have been ■jgafelv landed.
