Some settlers in British Columbia have communicated with Sir J. W. They estimate that they would number a thousand families. They add that they have no desire to speculate in land, and that economy is the only reason for their cooperation.
Sir J. W. Taverner replied -that the Victorian delegation will probably b 9 returning via Canada, and meanwhile hs is advising his Government of the proposals made by the settlers.
