DRAUGHTS ITEMS.
Waimahaka.—A correspondent favours ua with the following report: —" An enthusiastic meeting of those desirous of forming i draughts club was held in the schoolhouse\ Waimahaka, on the 23rcV inst. ks th«. evening was a fine one, a good attendant of players met together to engage in a friendly game. At the conclusion of olay for the night a general meeting was held, and Mr Gillies was voted to the chair. After a few opening remarks by that gentleman, a committee, comprising Messr Gilliea (captairi), J. Stirling (president) P. Schroeder (secretary and treasurer). 1. Middleton, J. Stevens, G. Birss, and T. Kearney, was formed. It was decided to meet for practice on Wednesday evenings; that a tourney, for trophies to be. chosen by the committee, be played during the season; that games with surrounding: clubs be started as scon as possible; and that senior members' fees be 2s 6d, and junior members' Is 6d."
