UNIVERSITY BOAT RACE.

VICTORY FOR OXFORD. LONDON, March 23. Oxford defeated Cambridge by four lengths. The weather was perfect and the water smooth. Cambridge won the toss, and chose the Middlesex side. The two boats .were level as far as the Craven steps, iwhere Cambridge had a slight lead, but from Crabtree to Harrode, Oxford, pulling a long and steady stroke, gradually overhauled their rivals, and shot past Hammersmith bridge with an advantage of three-quarters of a length. After this Oxford continued to increase their lead, 'despite Cambridge's plucky spurts. The official notification of the result Jwas " a win for Oxford by three lengths and a-half.
