A small Hock of land north of lancl. covered with kauri forest, was rerently sold by the Native owners for £3OO to a European, who a few months latadisposed of it for £2600. The present owner now wants £20.000 for his property, and has announced h. : s intention of putfang in a mill to cut out the kauri rather than sell for less. An Englishman, calling himeef Prince John Eex de Guelph, and claiming kinship to the King- of Engand, is making & tour of the United States of America.
